SO SATISFYING！After finishing volume 10 I was concerned that I was going to be bored by a volume of wedding nonsense but I was completely wrong。 This volume is delightful AND did exactly what I really wanted， which was time skip in the bonus chapters and showing them with a kid！！ I liked the way the wedding was portrayed which gave readers unfamiliar with Japanese culture （especially around weddings） a good idea of just what goes on and how they do it。 （I still have issues with that wedding plan SO SATISFYING！After finishing volume 10 I was concerned that I was going to be bored by a volume of wedding nonsense but I was completely wrong。 This volume is delightful AND did exactly what I really wanted， which was time skip in the bonus chapters and showing them with a kid！！ I liked the way the wedding was portrayed which gave readers unfamiliar with Japanese culture （especially around weddings） a good idea of just what goes on and how they do it。 （I still have issues with that wedding planner because his character really doesn't fit this story but it's such a small detail and I loved this volume so much that I'll ignore it。） I like how subtle and integrated into the story most of was。 I suggest people google 'Japanese weddings' so you can understand more and appreciate this volume even more （if possible！）。 。。。more

Volume: 3/5 🌟Series: 5/5 🌟I told myself in 2022 I wasn’t going to count manga or review manga as a part of my Goodreads challenge。 But there so much to say about this series， I’ve allowed myself an exception to the rule。 （My exception， for future reference， being that I will count the final volumes so that I can review the series as a whole！） Admittedly， this finale left me wanting a little more， but that’s only because the rest of the series gave me everything I could ever want in a romance。 Ev Volume: 3/5 🌟Series: 5/5 🌟I told myself in 2022 I wasn’t going to count manga or review manga as a part of my Goodreads challenge。 But there so much to say about this series， I’ve allowed myself an exception to the rule。 （My exception， for future reference， being that I will count the final volumes so that I can review the series as a whole！） Admittedly， this finale left me wanting a little more， but that’s only because the rest of the series gave me everything I could ever want in a romance。 Everything gets wrapped up in a nice bow here， but I wanted more emotion， a little less marriage logistics， and a lot more of the spice I’ve grown accustomed to！ This series is one of the best romances I have ever read， manga or otherwise。 I have never read such a healthy relationship with realistic communication and expectations。 I think a few readers are turned off by the premise， i。e。 a man being attracted to the way a woman smells。 And yes， I even thought it was a bit strange at first， but by the end of volume one it feels as natural as breathing。 These books are written with such thought and care that everything， even this strange meet-cute， just progresses perfectly。 The art is adorable。 The panels are laugh out loud funny and tear-inducing。 And this love is so， so pure。 My standards for workplace romances is now extraordinary high， and I regret absolutely nothing about it。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 Finally！ I'm all done！ I'm not sure how I feel。 I was primarily interested in learning more about cultural differences for weddings; which I got。 I think， for me， the build up to some things wasn't really there。 We see briefly in a previous volume Asako thinking about having kids。 She then meets with a friend， who has a young child that doesn't take to her。 She and Natori have a brief conversation about having children， and that's it。 I suppose my problem is that the manga should've been longer Finally！ I'm all done！ I'm not sure how I feel。 I was primarily interested in learning more about cultural differences for weddings; which I got。 I think， for me， the build up to some things wasn't really there。 We see briefly in a previous volume Asako thinking about having kids。 She then meets with a friend， who has a young child that doesn't take to her。 She and Natori have a brief conversation about having children， and that's it。 I suppose my problem is that the manga should've been longer so that we could see things build to a climax。 More drama to stress test the relationship。 And I wasn't really a fan of how the manga tries to sell Asako and Natori to me; the wedding planner is like， they're perfectly matched！ Most couples fight but not these two！！！ And that's probably because their relationship would fall apart if they had any kind of extended conflict？？？It doesn't help that the mangaka constantly stresses that they never thought the manga would go this long。 So maybe there was no real plan。 And then as soon as they get married， Asako is like， okay but I want to have a baby instead of a honeymoon。 So I guess the story is cute but I really never liked Asako （she refuses to show her wedding garter belt to Natori because it might arouse him？ Yall been together for a whole year。 And then he misinterprets her meaning and gets down about it。 After the robot incident， their communication skills are still so poor？！）。 Even now， I dont really buy their relationship！ And I still dont get how Asako is so close to her parents/family and yet she is still super fucked up from childhood bullying over something that she inherited from her father。 And I felt some kind of way about her coworkers basically talking about how boring she dressed until she started dating。 I think this is just a metaphor for how much happier Asako had become。 But I didnt care for it。 Either way， it was a really sweet manga but I think my attempts to enjoy romance as a genre end here。 。。。more

What a satisfying conclusion to such a sweet series！ Sweat and Soap is a wonderful example of a romance manga that introduces realistic relationship barriers and situations with resolutions that endear both MCs to the reader。 I especially appreciate how healthy the communication is between the couple， something that seems rare to find in romance manga。I highly， highly recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a realistic feel-good romance that has a surprising amount of depth。
